The following information is about policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of your information when you use the service and tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
We use your personal data to provide and improve the service. By using the service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this privacy policy.

The type of personal information we collect and process
Name, DOB, contact details (phone number and email address), GP details, medical information (types of medication, dosage)
Sharing information
Information will only be shared if I have been given your consent. If the law requires me to share information (safeguarding concerns/'risk of harm to self or others') I will endeavor to consult with you first. See the counselling contract for further details.
How information is stored
Electronic personal information/data is stored securely on a computer which is password protected. Hard copies of information are locked in a cabinet. I will delete and/or shred the data after seven years of you finishing therapy with me. If you are under the age of eighteen I will delete and/or shred the data seven years after your eighteenth birthday.
Your rights under GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations)
- The right to request access to your data and to have it for your own purposes; email info@riversidewillowscounselling.co.uk to log these requests
- The right to be informed as to what happens to your data and how it is stored
- The right to amend or rectify your personal data
- The right to request erasure of your information and personal data and to object to data collection
- Some data cannot be erased and must be collected, however but the retention/collection of this type of data must be lawful and appropriate (i.e. in line with my insurance/professional body, or for legal/safeguarding purposes)
We have one month to respond to requests for any of the above.
